Collections
Founded in 1791, the museum is one of the oldest natural history collections in Germany. Some parts of the collections date back to the beginning of the 19th century. Thus, numerous objects possess not only a scientific but also a cultural-historical value. Today, the collections of the Natural History Museum Bamberg comprise about 200,000 specimens.
